"Infrastructure" isn't usually a sexy vertical, but right now it's getting funded faster than Fenty post-superbowl. But why?

Investors continue to pour millions into infrastructure funding because despite market insecurities (or perhaps because of them) DeFi use has remained strong as people trade, get smart contract loans, and facilitate remittances.

But what actually is this magical infrastructure layer? It's the wild web of technical systems that make up the platforms we use as consumers; the driving engine beneath the hood of exchanges, decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, and more.

In 2022, Starbucks launched a web3 based loyalty program in partnership with Polygon. Polygon is a "layer two” or “sidechain” scaling solution that runs alongside the Ethereum blockchain. This means that Polygon and Ethereum provide the infrastructure for a Starbucks' loyalty program that gives users true ownership over their rewards.

This sector is shining bright like a diamond—a signal that even more jobs are coming soon.
